Dear Erika,

 You should have more confidence in yourself because you are not stupid you are smart just like everybody else. You can get good at math all you need to do is study and ask the teachers and don’t think about what people is saying about you. Then you need to feel more confident about raising your hand because its not bad to ask the teacher questions.

To Erica,

I think you should not worry about what other people say and just do what you want. Don’t feel stupid because you have a class with freshmen because you just have to worry about passing and graduate and no it’s not good to drop for a crazy reason like that just ignore others and try your best to pass. Make sure you do what you got to do to finish high school.

Dear Erika

I’m sorry to hear you are having problems in math.

I would like to offer you advice that would help you do better in math.

Which would be:

1. Study harder at home

2. Ask teachers and students for help

3. Ask teacher for extra work to practice and for guidance

4. Don’t give up on your education

5. You made it this far, so don’t waste your time and drop out

6. Think about your younger siblings and children  in the future ,so they can have someone to look up to in a positive way.

    Self-Confidence

    Erika, a 12th grader, isn’t good at math and, as a result, is in an 
    algebra class with all freshmen. 

    The freshmen are smarter and do better in the class, which makes her feel stupid. She hates math and doesn’t understand why she has to take it. Her grades aren’t good enough for college anyway, so she’s not planning on going. She already has a job working as a waitress after school and doesn’t think she’s smart enough to do anything else. So, she figures she should just drop out now.
