Dear Ammery,

I decided that education is more important right now than hanging out with people that are older than you. That seems hard for you because they influence you to do what is wrong. They teaching you to do the wrong thing like for example: they taught you to smoke because they don’t care about their education and their report card and when you get your report card they will look at your report card and they will look at you and see that you did your best in school and they will say that you is smart. Your parents send you to the school to get a good education and they are working hard for you because they want you to be a doctor or something. So if you don’t want to try your best.  What else are you going to do - dropout from the school or go find a different thing to do. No!!

    Peer Pressure

Ammery, a 9th grader, has been hanging out with cool kids who are
    all juniors.

They invited her to ditch third period with them, and she knows they’re going off-campus to smoke. She has a test in that class tomorrow and the review is today. She really wants to go with them because they’re fun to be around. Plus, she thinks she’s ready for the quiz anyway. Ditching class isn’t a big deal, right? After all, her friends ditch all the time, so how bad could it be?
