Saja's Advice

 Dear Jacob,

First I want to tell you that your education is more important to you then you baby setting your brother. I think you are too young to take care of your brother because it seems like that you are smart and you were doing well in the school. So first I want you to talk to somebody that your parents know outside your family. then the person that you going to talk to he or she will go to talk to your parents then you can take your mom or your dad somewhere so you can start to talk to them then your mom can apologize that your education is more important to you then you baby setting your baby brother. And your mom or your dad can send your brother to a baby sitter. So I hope that you can try your best in your education and your life.

Jacob, a 9th grader, usually does well in school but has been absent many times because he has to stay home to take care of his baby  brother whenever his mom works extra shifts.

His parents work a lot and aren’t around to support him, help him with homework, or even make him dinner. His parents didn’t finish high school and his older brother dropped out of school last year. Every time he tries to talk to his family about the importance of his education, they get into a big fight. How will he be able to graduate if his family doesn’t support his efforts?
